Houdini was seen frequently on the streets of Zagreb in the snow in winter but it was weeks before he turned up again and could be sheltered in a local NGO's foster home.
He was too beautiful, friendly and sociable a dog to be struggling for survival in severe weather and with all the danger of injury and abuse commonly suffered by stray dogs.
He gained his name in his foster home by an ability to open door and let himself out. His good looks and wonderful temperament got him adopted in Croatia but as often happens the adoption has broken down and he must be re-homed.
His adopter is leaving him in a cage all day as the garden is not secure and Houdini has got under a fence and has been wandering. Houdini will make a great family member and companion but he does need a secure garden, as do all dogs, and it wouldn't be fair to leave him all day.
